Dental implants have been shown to be the most successful longterm option for replacing missing teeth. The implant, which is made of titanium, is fitted in bone where the tooth root would normally be. When fully integrated to the bone, a post (or abutment) is attached to the implant and a crown can be placed over the abutment to replace the missing tooth. Dental Implants can also be used to retain and hold dentures in place.
A full and detailed dental implant assessment is required to determine if you are ideal for implants. We do not charge for this unless an OPT radiograph or an 3D CT scan is required.

Dentistry is no longer just a case of filling and taking out teeth. Nowadays many people turn to cosmetic dentistry, or ‘aesthetic dentistry', as a way of improving their appearance. They do this in the same way they might use cosmetic surgery or even a new hairstyle. The treatments can be used to straighten, lighten, reshape and repair teeth.
Cosmetic treatments include veneers, crowns, bridges, tooth-coloured fillings, dental implants and tooth whitening. In complex cases may even include peridontal surgery - which involves shaping the gums.
Aesthetic Veneers, Crowns & Bridges
At the practice we use high quality porcelain for all veneers, crowns and bridges. As well as being metal free, they are long lasting and very natural looking. E-Max and Zirconia are the material of choice.
The E-Max dental material is considered to be a best inclusion in dental crown technology. It is a form of all-ceramic crown which provides best aesthetic appearance by complimenting with the natural teeth and it lasts longer. It has an appealing translucent color and is highly durable with extra strength.
A zirconia restoration is made of a strong, biocompatible material, zirconia which is also used in medical applications like artificial joints. It is a well-known, type of all-ceramic crown which significantly improves the tooth appearance that has been previously disfigured or stained for years and is significantly tougher than E-Max.
An aesthetic denture is a removable dental appliance replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue. They are made to closely resemble your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile.
There are two types of aesthetic dentures; complete and partial dentures.
Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain. A Partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting.
A Complete denture may be either “conventional” or “immediate.” A conventional type is made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed, usually taking 4 to 6 weeks. During this time the patient will go without teeth. Immediate dentures are made in advance and immediately placed after the teeth are removed, thus preventing the patient from having to be without teeth during the healing process. Once the tissues shrink and heal, adjustments will have to be made.
Dentures are very durable appliances and will last many years, but may have to be remade, repaired, or readjusted due to normal wear.
If you have either naturally yellow teeth or are an avid black tea or coffee drinker than the best form of whitening is that provided at a dental practice.
There are 2 types of tooth whitening; laser and home-kit.
If you would like a quick but short lived option of whitening your teeth than laser whitening would be the choice. This is where hydrogen peroxide gel is placed on your teeth and ultraviolet light is used to active it. You can have as many sessions as you like but cost are per visit.
The second option of the home-kit is longer lasting and has been shown to last as long as 3 years. Impressions moulds of your teeth are taken to make a customised guard that is very thin and comfortable to wear and hydrogen peroxide gel is given to you to use only a daily basis for 2 weeks.
Tooth whitening will only affect natural teeth and will not work on fillings or crowns. Ask your dentist for more details.
Aesthetic Composite Fillings
Under the NHS, back teeth that require fillings can only be restored with amalgam (metal) fillings.
If you would like a more aesthetic option ask your dentist about restoring your back teeth with tooth coloured composite fillings.
